Welcome to the PRHA

The Parkland Regional Health Authority is responsible for the planning, coordination, funding and delivery of all health services for the 42,000 residents within the Parkland Region, situated in West Central Manitoba, Canada.

PRHA and Smoke-Free Grounds

Smoke-Free Grounds is now the norm within the Parkland Regional Health Authority (PRHA). The smoke-free environment (smoke-free grounds) policy for all PRHA work sites, and affiliate organizations, went into effect April 1, 2012. The policy means that smoking on all PRHA, or affiliate, properties is prohibited. The policy does have one exemption. Personal Care Homes, where residents are allowed to smoke in designated smoking areas, is still permitted in accordance with the 2004 Provincial Non-Smokers Health Protection Act (NSHPA). The PRHA joins the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and Brandon Regional Health Authority as RHAs in Manitoba that have adopted smoke-free grounds.
